The job induction of highly educated professionals without previous work experience has a critical impact on their further professional development. Therefore, the internship programme in our company is well-defined, structured and organised in order to make job induction successful.
The aim of the internship programme is three-fold. It complements professional knowledge and skills acquired prior to employment, it familiarises new employees with the corporate culture and other employees, and helps them master necessary competences for the autonomous execution of work tasks pertaining to the job they are preparing for.
The key agents in this programme, apart from the interns themselves, are mentors and the Human Resources Department. The internship programme in our company consists of two basic programmes in which equal stress is put on acquiring professional specialist knowledge as well as on familiarising interns with the company, its organisation, culture, corporate standards and procedures, as well as the people who work in it.
In its strategy, Podravka has defined “knowledge as its most valuable asset”. Therefore, a set of educational programmes has been designed for interns based on acquiring and improving organisational, communicational and presentation skills and capacities.
