P: What characteristics are looked for in particular when a candidate applies for employment with Podravka?
O: In the recruitment process, Podravka pays special attention to the knowledge and skills candidates have acquired, their plans for personal development, and the results they have achieved in their studies or prior career. We look for people with a desire to achieve, who are motivated, enthusiastic, creative, dynamic, enterprising, communicative, open, and eager to learn and develop professionally.
P: How can I become a candidate for employment at Podravka?
O: If you are interested in working for Podravka, send us the basic information about yourself: a job application including CV, a photocopy of your college diploma or university degree, a photocopy of your personal identification document, and a photocopy of certificates from any additional courses you have completed (language courses, computer courses, anything you can make use of in your work). In this manner you will become part of our database of potential candidates for employment, from which we recruit our future employees. You can also submit your CV via our website.
P: Why is there a selection process for recruitment at Podravka?
O: The selection process is performed so that we can become better acquainted with candidates and their knowledge, abilities and ambitions, and so that we can find the person whose characteristics best meet the requirements of a given position.
P: What kind of questions can I expect at the interview?
O: During the interview we attempt to gather information that can tell us about the candidate’s future performance on the job, as well as give the candidate an opportunity to learn more about the position that interests him or her.
P: Who conducts the interviews with candidates?
O: Interviews with candidates are conducted by the director of the division and/or department which submitted notification of a job opening, along with an expert in the field of human resource management.

O: Podravka is interested in high-quality people with backgrounds in economics, food technology, pharmacy and biochemistry, law, computing and informatics, electrical engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering, psychology, medicine and mathematics.
P: What will recruitment trends look like in the immediate future?
O: In the recent past Podravka has recruited a substantial number of young, highly-educated professionals with backgrounds in economics and food technology. Recruitment will not decrease in the coming period, which means that recruitment will certainly take place to some extent.
P: Is a candidate who has been offered a job able to visit the future workplace in the city where it is located, and possibly meet co-workers, before making a final decision?
O: Such initiative on the candidate’s part is welcomed, and it is worth mentioning that hitherto we have usually asked that candidates become acquainted with their future co-workers and place of work.
P: What forms of supplementary education are most often used to meet the needs of Podravka employees?
O: The following forms of supplementary education are most frequently used for this purpose: seminars with top professionals and trainers in individual areas of knowledge and skills (aimed at developing organisational and, especially, managerial abilities), postgraduate studies, attending quality business schools, and other forms of specialised education.
P: What steps does the employment procedure follow?
O: When the Personnel Development Department receives a candidate’s application, he or she is entered into the database of potential employees, from which we choose those who best meet the requirements of a given position. We then invite the chosen candidates for an interview and psychological testing, after which the best among them face another round of interviews.
