Podravka was founded in 1934, and in 1993, after the restructuring process, it was transformed into a joint-stock company.

In view of Podravka's size, the number of owners and other aspects, this kind of ownership organisation suits Podravka's needs best. Such an ownership structure enables Podravka to trade shares on the organised capital market - the Stock Market. Since 1998, Podravka has been listed in the 1 st quotation of The Zagreb Stock Exchange .

As of November 1999, Podravka's shares office no longer independently keeps the share ledger, since the shares were dematerialised and responsibility for the changes in ownership stakes of Podravka was taken over by the Central Depository Agency (CDA).

The Financial Forum awarded Podravka’s share the prize for the most liquid share of 2001 and 2002.
